For Girls 10-18 -  June 17-18 for ages 10 to 18 (Girls In Aerospace )

 

This camp will be held at Aviation Museum of Kentucky at Blue Grass Airport . The cost* is $244 per student.

 

 

* For girls and young women, ages 10-18. *
Should have an interest in aviation and aerospace.

Emphasis will be given to having women in aviation careers make presentations.
An actual flight lesson in a four-seat airplane will be provided
as part of the camp experience with a log book provided by the instructor.

Student activities include flight simulation, aeronautical navigation, careers in aerospace, aeronautics, airplane instruments, airplane design, weather, NASA space,
air traffic control, airplane technicians and more. Campers also get a photo
of themselves with an airplane.

Aviation camps are conducted by museum staff at the Aviation Museum of Kentucky, Inc., Blue Grass Airport, Lexington, and at other locations throughout Kentucky. Camps at the museum are two days in length from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.
Variations in flights and camp activities may occur due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
NOTE: All camp activities subject to Covid-19 guidelines at the time of camp. 

 

 

  • Dates -  June 17-18 8:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m. daily
  • Help fly an actual airplane: With an FAA certified pilot, students will participate in planning and conducting a flight in the central Kentucky area. (NOTE: If the flight must be canceled for any reason such as weather, a refund of $45.00 will be made to the parent or sponsor who has previously paid the full camp tuition.)
  • Camp activities: Student activities include flight simulation, aeronautical navigation, careers in aerospace, aeronautics, airplane instruments, airplane design, weather, NASA space, air traffic control, airplane technicians and so forth. Emphasis will be given to having women in aviation careers make presentations. Campers also get a photo of themselves with an airplane.
  • Payment will reserve an enrollment space. Confirmation will be sent either by e-mail or phone once sufficient enrollment confirms the camp date.
  • Lunch Also, snacks, an adult size camp t-shirt, and other items are provided.
  • Transportation to/from camp is provided by parents or through other local arrangements.

*Financial Aid
To seek financial aid, click on the green Financial Aid Application button. To complete the Financial Aid Application, the parent will need to explain why financial aid is required, and the student will need to write a short paragraph describing why
the student would like to attend Aviation Camp.  You must complete the Financial Aid online form to be eligible for Financial Aid.  A refundable $20 deposit must be paid via Credit/Debit Card to process the request. If your application is not approved,  your deposit will be refunded to the card used.

Expect to be notified about your approval status by May 1.
