THE KENTUCKY AVIATION HALL OF FAME NOMINATION PROCEDURE

Any member of The Aviation Museum of Kentucky may nominate an individual to considered to be in the Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame.
Return the nomination packages to the Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame at the listed address on the form. We will file the information, but we strongly urge you to retain a copy of the submitted materials. The KAHF Ballot Committee will determine which nominees will be placed on the Hall of Fame ballot. The nomination, review, and election cycle begins a year before enshrinement, so it can take up to 18 months for a candidate to be considered. In the spring of each year, ballots are sent to the Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame Board of Nominations. The Hall of Fame Committee announces that year’s Enshrinees in late spring. Nominees who are not elected remain on the ballot for future consideration. Nominees who do not attract a minimum number of votes in three consecutive cycles will be removed from the ballot. With expanded information, they may be renominated.

Please complete the HOF Nomination Form and submit supporting documentation.

Occasionally an individual elected by the Board of Nominations asks to postpone enshrinement. In that case, the honoree may be carried forward to the following year’s enshrinement. Decisions of the Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame Committee are final. After Enshrinees have been determined, preparations begin for the enshrinement dinner. The black-tie gala is held in early October/November; invitations are sent six to eight weeks before the event.

Besides the submission form, please submit detailed one-page biography of the nominee. Nomination biographies longer than one page in length will not be accepted. Please use an 11 pt. font size at the minimum (larger if possible) and allow for a one-inch margin on the paper's left side, top, and bottom. This biography should include a summary of the nominee’s achievements, including awards, decorations, honors, etc.
